Bec Hollcraft, also professionally known as BECCA, started her musical journey in Portland, OR at an early age. Singing before she could speak and penning her first song at age 10, she always knew how she wanted to spend her life - creating music.
However, she struggled with paralyzing shyness, a trait that everyone around her said she needed to change if she wanted to have success. She became a master endurer, going against her nature for her dream and eventually catching the attention of Meredith Brooks at the age of 14, who recognized her powerhouse voice and songwriting abilities and signed her to a production deal.
Bec’s life took a pivotal turn when she made the move to Los Angeles as a freshman in highschool. She started working as a recording artist and songwriter, eventually leading her to signing a record deal with Sony Music Entertainment Japan. Her debut full-length album, "Alive!!," was released in 2008 and solidified her presence in the Japanese music scene. Her song “I’m Alive” became the ending theme song of the popular anime The Black Butler (Kuroshitsuji).
Returning to the United States in 2012, she took on a new role as the lead singer of the rock band Stars in Stereo and traveled the country opening for rock acts such as The Used, Halestorm, Bush and more. Following the abrupt disbandment of Stars in Stereo, Becca diversified her musical pursuits, participating in collaborations such as the fantasy folk/rock band Blackhaven, techno duo WITHN US, and industrial metal band Contracult Collective. Through her multifaceted career, Becca exemplifies not only musical versatility but also an unwavering commitment to overcoming personal challenges on her artistic journey.
It wasn’t until she started exploring somatic experiencing work that she began to understand her obstacles more clearly. With these newfound tools, she was able to start combating stage fright and have a deeper understanding of her nervous system and the way in which it was inhibiting her progress. She wished she’d had this knowledge when she was starting out, and is aching to share with other creatives so they can find safety throughout all the chaotic curveballs that the music industry is known for. She wants each artist to feel equipped, and not have to experience the same blocks and fears that she traversed. Bec now spends her time mentoring artists and working with clients to record/produce/and write their own music.

Daya grew up in an open and conscious environment that encouraged curiosity, creativity, and self-exploration. From an early age, she was drawn to psychology, human behavior, and the ways our bodies and minds hold experience.
Her path first led her into Equine Osteopathy, where she discovered how deeply animals reveal our inner world. Through the Equisense project, she witnessed the capacity of horses to guide young people toward connection, confidence, and presence. Over time, her work naturally expanded into Equicoaching and later Somatic Serenity—a practice where she supports people in softeningheld patterns, building nervous system capacity, and reconnecting with a sense of resilience and self-trust.
Trained in Polyvagal Theory and nervous system education, Daya is especially interested in the connections between pregnancy, birth, early life experiences, and adult well-being. She shares practical, body-based tools that help people orient toward safety, regulation, and balance in daily life. In 2022, her journey also brought her to Costa Rica, where she became certified in Oncology Massage, offering supportive touch for individuals navigating cancer.
Through it all, music has remained her first language. For Daya, songwriting is medicine—a way to process, to connect, and to return to the core of being. It has accompanied her through life’s twists and turns, shaping her understanding of creativity as a powerful force for transformation.
Today, as co-founder of Somatic Songwriters, she weaves together her knowledge of the body, the nervous system, and the creative spirit—holding space for artists to explore their inner landscape and creative expression at a pace that feels safe, resourced, and alive.
THE TEAM
Somatic Songwriters© was born from a shared passion for music, healing, and personal development.
Daya & Bec first connected during a songwriting retreat, where their shared interest in somatic healing and the therapeutic power of music sparked a deep conversation. Bec, a professional singer-songwriter, had struggled with stage fright and anxiety, and found her way forward through somatic experiencing— a journey that resonated deeply with Daya, who had devoted her career to Trauma Release Coaching and Nervous System Regulation.
Meanwhile, Turiya & Daya, sisters who have shared a love of singing since childhood, had long been exploring the connection between the nervous system and the voice. As an opera singer, Brain-Based Voice Teacher, and Mental Performance Coach, Turiya had experienced firsthand how vocal challenges are often rooted in imbalances within the body and mind.
She and Daya knew that the Polyvagal Theory, a groundbreaking science of safety, could be the key to help artists overcome the many challenges they face, through nervous system regulation and somatic practices.
When Bec joined the conversation, the vision crystallized: to create a space where artists can explore the connection between Body, Voice, and Mind, and receive the support each of them had once needed in their own creative journeys.
